MCM Player Auditions

The MCM Players are the Miami Children’s Museum’s theater troupe responsible for the development and implementation of all theatrical experiences, including but not limited to in-house stage shows, outreaches, camp shows, camp lessons, character appearances, dance parties and story times. MCM Players are versatile character actors, theater makers and teaching artists.

Performing Arts

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Perform in-house, camp and outreach shows.
· Make character appearances on the museum floor
· Lead dance parties, story times and other activities
· Run technical aspects of shows (light, sound and audio/visual cues)
· Help create and develop original shows and floor characters
· Assist with department organization, including but not limited storage spaces, costumes, laundry, file sorting, etc
· Attend meetings and participate in Museum Experiences trainings.
· Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor degree in Fine Arts, Acting, Theater, Education or similar or;
· A minimum of three years of professional experience in the performing arts industry
· Experience working with children
· Bilingual is preferred

AUDITIONS
Auditions will be held on Tuesday April 18th between 3pm and 6:30pm. Please email your headshot, resume (both theatrical and professional) and preferred window of time to bobst@miamichildrensmuseum.org, with the subject AUDITIONS.
Please prepare two contrasting monologues no more than four minutes total that demonstrate character range.
