0 - 1 year olds
If you are looking to strengthen those early parent-child bonds and better understand your baby's development, "Cuddle & Bounce" is for you. With age-appropriate activities for newborns, infants and crawlers, this parent-child music and movement class will help you focus on child development and communication with your baby.
You and your baby will enjoy instrument play, dance, exploration time, and together time. Participants will receive expert advice and parenting resources based on the most recent research in baby development.

1 - 2 year olds
Get interactive with your child with our new and exciting Kindermusik curriculum. This new Kindermusik curriculum focuses on your child's beginning movement, helping to build the muscles your young toddler needs to walk, run, and climb. Vocal development is also a part of this class as you nurture your child's speaking and singing voice. With a mix of both parent-child joint activities and child-focused activities, you will be able to join right in on all the singing and dancing while also getting the chance to observe how your young toddler learns on his or her own.

Mini Play & Explore

Children from 0-12 months get a chance to do all of their favorite activities in a nurtured and fun environment in our "Mini Play & Explore" class. Experience "Face Time", "Dancin' Baby", "Squishy, Softy, Smoothy" and much more through unique sets of activities focused on building and maintaining relationships between parent and baby.

Tuesdays (Sept. 2 - Dec. 9, 2014)

9:30 am - 10:30 am | Ages 0-12 months

10:45 am - 11:45 am | Ages 1-2 years

Mini Masters of Art

Every week your child will have the opportunity to learn about different artists and their techniques, such as Vincent van Gogh, George Seurat, Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo and many others. Each child will be introduced to techniques such as pointillism, resist and abstract; they will create self-portraits and craft many other art activities. Please bring extra clothes since it will be a wonderful, yet sometimes messy experience.

MiChiMu Rhythm & Groove

Stretch, groove, and have fun while learning to dance all at the same time. Rhythm & Groove is a class that will introduce children to freestyle dance through poetic expression, movement and the basics of dancing. Different styles of dancing will be incorporated in this class as well. In addition, children will learn to further develop their rhythm and co-ordination skills while having fun.

MiChiMu Cooking Classes

MiChiMu cooking classes provide children with hands-on experiences assisting a culinary school graduated Chef to prepare fresh and nutricious foods. These classes are designated to creat and promote healthy eating habits, teaching basic cooking skills, and expanding the children's knowledge of nutrition and food-related vocabulary.

The A, B, C's of Literacy

The A, B, C's of Literacy are classes designed to be fun and hands-on. Children will learn valuable information about print and how it works. The children will be surrounded by a print rich environment that will motivate them to begin to read thus developing a love for books.

Yoga for Me

Yoga for Me is a multi-sensory yoga class for young children. Participants will learn some basic Hatha yoga postures, breathing, stretching and relaxation techniques. Nestled in the interactive and child-focused setting of the Miami Children's Museum, children will have the chance to bond, improve wellness, and reduce stress; all while encouraging appropriate social interactions and basic school-readiness skills. Practicing Yoga has been shown to increase strength, flexibility, balance and attention span, for adults and children. These activities can be an important part of supporting positive behavior. Yoga for Me will be facilitated by Phillip Collazo, a Certifies Yoga Teacher, with 6 years' experience teaching children with all levels of abilities.

MiChiMu Spanish Classes

Spanish class is a fun and innovative way to teach children a new language. This class will introduce children to Spanish grammar, songs, verbs and vocabulary. Children will experience a hands-on learning approach that will allow them to become acquainted with the wonderful world of Spanish language through puppets, music and pictures. Learning a new language will be interactive and fun. Families will also be involved in taking some materials home to enjoy with their children.
