Small Group Outreach

Cultural Creativity

Grades 2 – 5
Students will learn about the artistic traditions of a specific culture. Depending on the time of year, this interactive art program includes famous Hispanic artists, African-American art, Haitian art forms, Australian aboriginal paintings, or Japanese landscapes. Follow up on classroom learning with an Educational Exploration to MCM for our Cultural Connections tour!

Express Yourself!

Grades Pre-K – 5
Students make connections between feelings and actions. Use magnetic face shapes to create different expressions, and create a work of art with different emotions in mind! How would you paint if you were excited? How would you color if you were angry? This outreach is great for school counselors or for any teacher who wants to address the importance of feelings and emotions.

Ecosystem Experts

Grades 2 – 5
Learn all about South Florida’s coastal ecosystem during this art-based science outreach. Children will create a diorama that includes mangroves, sea grass, and a coral reef. This engaging activity prepares students for FCAT exams and gets them excited about learning!

What’s New?

Grades Pre-K – 1st
We deliver an outreach to your classroom based on our What’s New? Traveling Exhibit Gallery.

Large Group Outreach

Alive with Storytelling!

Grades Pre-K – 5
This activity is for readers of all ages. Using a popular children’s book, students become the characters and participate with gestures, sound, and movement.

African Dance & Drumming

Grades Pre-K – 5
Join local group Venus Rising as they guide you through a lesson in West African song, dance and drumming. Get ready to move! Must be booked for 2 performances.
