JUN 19 – MIAMI CHILDREN’S MUSEUM LAUNCHES “PLAYMAKERS”

Miami Children’s Museum’s reputation as the place where South Florida comes to play welcomes a whole new age bracket with the launch of its new “Playmakers Group,” a social and networking set for adults. With a goal to bring South Florida’s professional and civic leaders together, MCM will launch Playmakers with “Art After Dark,” an innovative art sale and cocktail party in association with the Bakehouse Art Complex and sponsored by Douglas Elliman on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 6:30 -9:00 p.m at the Miami Children’s Museum, 980 MacArthur Causeway, Miami. The evening is a benefit for the Bakehouse, its resident artists, and Miami Children’s Museum.

MCM CEO/Executive Director Deborah Spiegelman noted, ”With MCM’s ‘Be A Kid Again Gala’ lauded annually as one of the most fun events of the social season, we thought it was time to bring the Museum’s signature events to the community year-round. In joining with Douglas Elliman and the Bakehouse, we are welcoming guests to the first of what we believe will be the most creative and fun networking group in town with the Playmakers Group.”

Hosted in conjunction with Douglas Elliman, one of the nation’s largest real estate companies with offices in key markets such as New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, the event will offer guests an opportunity to browse and purchase works from the over fifty resident artists of the Bakehouse Art Complex. The Bakehouse is one of the leading creative centers in Miami’s flourishing artist community.

As Co-Chair, Jay Phillip Parker, CEO of Douglas Elliman’s Florida brokerage, comments, “It is a pleasure to support the Miami Children’s Museum and this type of creative programming. As a company, we are passionate about being a part of the communities we serve and this event in particular is a great cause that benefits the most important group out there: our children.”
