“What Do I Feed My
Child’s Growing Body? How to eat out with kids, eat
healthy and STILL have a good time”
Thursday March 8, 2007
6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Author of “WHAT SHOULD I FEED
MY KIDS” and parent, Ronni Litz Julien, MS, RD/LDN
will be how to dine out with young children. She
will be explaining the essential nutrition basics
for children, offering parents a number of
easy-to-implement changes which will improve
children’s eating habits. Ronni will also provide
advice and helpful guidelines on how to deal with a
child’s eating habits through portion control,
altering the way meals are served in the home and
snacking, all while maintaining discipline. A sample
list of menu options will reveal the true caloric,
fat and carbohydrate intake for common foods which
shows what not to eat and some alternatives.
Throughout the presentation, children will be
engaged in activities that teach nutrition basics
and healthy snacks and treats will also be provided.

WLRN Channel 17 Ready
To Learn will provide an interactive workshop for
those interested in learning more about emergent
literacy and phonemic awareness. Together, we can
build a frame that reinforces the concepts of early
literacy by implementing some fun educational
activities. PBS television and Web content will be
addressed as it pertains to school readiness in a
variety of developmentally appropriate ways. We will
place particular emphasis on increasing parents’ and
educators’ use of the Learning Triangle (View, Read,
Do). Please join us in a fun and exciting event
with your children.
