Camp at Miami Children’s Museum is an experience that promises to evoke creativity in all children. We use 8 areas to teach children about different aspects of life around the globe. These include food, world crafts and art, music, dance and performance, language, literacy, geography, and games and sports. We are often viewed as a child’s first encounter with arts and culture. Our camp themes are an exciting new way for children to learn and interact and promote cultural diversity.
If you are looking for fun ways to keep your children learning over the summer or planning for breaks during the next school year, adding at least one Miami Children's Museum camp to your calendar is an excellent choice. Our summer camps, one-day adventures, and everything in between offer safe and fun ways to learn about almost anything they might be interested in!
Our one-day and weekly camps help children learn about each topic in ways that are both fun and relatable to them.
At Miami Children's Museum, we believe that children's most memorable experiences are those that are both fun and educational. Our camp staff brings excitement to every session while making sure that campers leave with new insights into a topic that interests them. Whether you are looking to get the most out of your membership by spending the summer at the museum or are a visitor to the Miami area who notices a day camp that is the perfect fit for your child while you are in town, our wide selection of camps for kids offers something for everyone.
We strongly believe that the best learning happens through a multidimensional approach. Rather than simply sharing information and hoping it sticks, we carefully plan sessions that showcase each topic from a variety of angles. From food and games to music and crafts, each camp includes plenty of hands-on fun!
Our wide range of seasonal camps ensures that learning doesn't have to stop when your kids are out of school. Our summer camps are among our most popular choices, but we also offer plenty of options for keeping your kids engaged and having fun during winter and spring break and on several other days throughout the year.
Our summer Explorers Camp offers eight full weeks of fun to give Miami students plenty of opportunities to make new friends while learning about something new each week. Campers can participate in a single themed week that especially interests them or come for the full season! From animals and space to games and theatre, our themed summer camps offer something for everyone.
We also offer extended spring and winter break camps with similar themes.
Our one-day camps are the perfect opportunity for kids to explore a specific interest. These camps typically fall into one or more of the following categories:
These camps typically run from 9 am - 3 pm with before and after care options available.
Miami Children's Museum camps stand out among other seasonal options in the area.
Many of our camps are led by certified teachers to make sure that our campers enjoy some of the most engaging learning experiences in the Miami area.
Our camps offer something for everyone. We prioritize finding creative ways to capture each child's interest in topics they are especially interested in or have not given much thought to before.
We recommend registering as early as possible to make sure that your child gets a spot in any sessions that interest them before they fill up!
Registration forms are available on our website and at the museum. They can be emailed to us at yanet@miamichildrensmuseum.org or dropped off at the museum.
Miami Children's Museum members receive registration discounts for many of our camps and other events. Here are some of the most common questions we get about preparing your children for their Miami Children's Museum camp experience!
Our camps are designed for approximately aged 4-14. Some sessions are primarily intended for a smaller age group, while others can be enjoyed by the full range of children that visit the museum!
These needs vary by the specific camp(s) your child is interested in. Our Subway provides lunch for many all-day sessions (except for one-day camps), but you are always welcome to send a lunch if this does not work for your child's dietary needs. We typically request two snacks from home each day.
We generally provide most of what your child will need to enjoy each day. You will be notified in advance if your child needs anything beyond snacks, weather-appropriate clothing for activities, and essential medications for a particular camp. We prefer that children not bring personal toys, electronics (including cell phones), or other items whenever possible.
At Miami Children's Museum, we prioritize offering a wide selection of fun and educational camp options for local families. Contact us today to learn more about our camps or to get your child registered!
