What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead engaging afterschool activities in a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Plan fun weekly lessons using art, science, literacy, music, games, and hands-on learning.
- Encourage creativity, curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- Build positive relationships with students while supporting their social and emotional development.
- Maintain classroom attendance and student accountability.
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and site staff to ensure student success.
- Help create an environment where every child feels welcomed, supported, and excited to learn.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Loves working with elementary-aged children.
- Has at least one year of experience leading groups of children.
- Is working toward an Associate's degree or higher in Education or has completed at least two years of college coursework.
- Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Is dependable, positive, and enjoys working as part of a team.
- Is CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified).
- Can successfully pass a Level II Background Screening and pre-employment drug screening.
