Children's Learning Programs

The Museum provides immersive and informal learning opportunities that promote the love of learning through play. Our innovative programs emphasize core early childhood concepts in ways that promote lifelong learners.

PERFORMING ARTS

At the Miami Children's Museum, the Performing Arts program invites children to dive into theater, music, and dance. Through hands-on activities and lively performances, kids can explore their creativity while building confidence, improving communication, and learning teamwork. This program not only makes the arts fun but also helps children develop emotional intelligence and a lasting love for artistic expression.

ARTS AND CULTURE

At the Miami Children's Museum, Arts and Culture programs immerse children in a vibrant mix of artistic and cultural experiences. Kids can explore painting, sculpture, music, and dance, gaining insights into diverse traditions from around the world. These activities not only spark creativity but also encourage children to embrace cultural diversity and develop empathy.

MINI MONDAY

Mini Monday at the Miami Children's Museum offers a special time for infants and toddlers to grow through play. Every Monday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the museum transforms into a haven for children from birth to age five. Without the bustle of school groups, the environment is calm and inviting, perfect for young explorers. This program is a great opportunity for parents to introduce their little ones to social play and developmental activities in a supportive setting.

SENSORY-FRIENDLY SATURDAY

Every second Saturday of the month, the Miami Children's Museum hosts Sensory-Friendly Saturday, a special event tailored for children with disabilities and their families. The museum adjusts its environment by lowering the sound and lighting to create a welcoming space. Families can enjoy a quieter visit with fewer guests, making it easier for children to explore and participate in sensory activities and performances. This event also provides a chance for parents to connect with local service providers and discover valuable community resources. Admission is free, but spots fill up quickly, so be sure to RSVP in advance.

SMART PROGRAM

The SMART Program at Miami Children's Museum offers a dynamic after-school experience that blends artistic, cultural, and recreational activities. Running throughout the school year, this program provides a safe space where children can explore their creativity, learn about diverse cultures, and enjoy recreational activities. By focusing on holistic development, the SMART Program helps children enhance their talents and social skills.

INCLUSION, DIVERSITY & REPRESENTATION

Miami Children's Museum is dedicated to fostering an inclusive atmosphere that celebrates diversity and equity. Our programs highlight a variety of cultures and backgrounds, ensuring that underrepresented groups are well-represented. Initiatives like Representation Through the Artist’s Lens and Black History Month Celebration aim to shape children's self-identity and broaden their perspectives. We also honor the Indigenous nations who have historically cared for the land we occupy. For more details on our diversity and inclusion efforts, visit our website.
