Afterschool Instructor - Liberty City Elementary School

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead engaging afterschool activities in a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Plan fun weekly lessons using art, science, literacy, music, games, and hands-on learning.
  • Encourage creativity, curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Build positive relationships with students while supporting their social and emotional development.
  • Maintain classroom attendance and student accountability.
  • Communicate with parents, teachers, and site staff to ensure student success.
  • Help create an environment where every child feels welcomed, supported, and excited to learn.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Loves working with elementary-aged children.
  • Has at least one year of experience leading groups of children.
  • Is working toward an Associate's degree or higher in Education or has completed at least two years of college coursework.
  • Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Is dependable, positive, and enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Is CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified).
  • Can successfully pass a Level II Background Screening and pre-employment drug screening.
