Black History Month
All Month Long
Join the Museum virtually to celebrate Black History Month. Learn about the achievements of Black Americans and the central role they play in U.S. history. We’ll be focusing on a variety of amazing people from present-day and throughout history. Create art inspired from the Harlem Renaissance, try space science like Aprille Ericsson-Jackson, get hands on with a sensory activity inspired by George Washington Carver, check out videos featuring black authors, a cooking demonstration from our friends at People’s Barbecue, beautiful musical performances from friends in the community, and more! Sensory Friendly Saturday
Saturday, February 13
On the second Saturday of every month, Miami Children’s Museum offers a sensory friendly experience for children with disabilities and their families. Love is in the air this month and our Valentine’s Sensory Saturday will be packed with love inspired crafts and sensations! Join our virtual celebration on Saturday, February 13. Even at home, our goal is to provide your child with the opportunity to engage in social interactions and improve their processing and regulation of sensory input to optimize their understanding of and participation in natural environments. What’s better than reading books? Singing, chanting and dancing to them! Members can enjoy Mini Monday programming from home with our Theatre Troupe as they read and sing along to classic children’s books like, “I Like Myself”, “Listen to the Rain”, “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” and more. Our virtual Members Mini Monday Story Play is available every Monday at 11AM and is geared towards children ages 0-5 years old. Members can create fun and engaging art projects with our Studio Artists during interactive Zoom workshops. Our virtual Member Masterpieces art workshops are available every other week on Fridays at 4:30PM and each class is geared towards a specific age group so that all children can express their creativity. Just a Minute Performance

Women’s History Month: Pioneers of Progress
All Month Long
Join the Museum virtually to celebrate Women’s History Month. We’ll be focusing on a variety of amazing girls and women who have made history by being first… first to be a pilot, first to win a Nobel Peace Prize, and first to become Vice President of the United States, and more! Create art inspired by out-of-the-box women artists and try STEM activities from sensory science to a coding game, all inspired by the contributions of women. Check out video storytellings about some of our favorite activists, musicians, and performers, and enjoy a cooking demonstration of a recipe from the first woman inducted into the Culinary Institute of America’s Hall of Fame, Julia Child.

Dr. Seuss’ 117th Birthday Celebration
March 2 – 6
Join us virtually for some of our favorite Dr. Seuss activities to celebrate the birth of the beloved author. Try some Seussical science, create crafts, and even learn how to make Green Eggs & Ham! Then, join our Theatre Troupe and other celebrity readers for their storytellings of classic Dr. Seuss stories.
Dr. Seuss’ 117th Drive-Thru Birthday Bash

Drive by the Museum to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ 117th Birthday! Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we’ll be handing out sweet treats, a special activity, and other fun trinkets! Wave hello to some of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters from the comfort of your car. Items are available to the first 500 people and are on a first come, first served basis.
The celebration and drive-thru are sponsored by The Children’s Trust, Florida Dairy Farmers, PNC Bank, and Molina Healthcare.

Musical Passover Seder with PJ Library

We are thrilled to announce that we will be offering the JKids Radio Musical Passover Seder with an unbelievable line up of top artists in Jewish kids music including Nefesh Mountain, Rabbi Josh Warshawsky, Eliana Light, Shira Kline, Ellen Allard, Rick Recht, Joanie Leeds, and Elana Jagoda! This highly interactive musical experience will utilize the PJ Library digital Hagadah and a DIY downloadable home activity kit that families can use to enhance their seder experience.
