Home for the Holidays
All Month Long
Celebrate lots of different holidays and festivities happening around the world this month right in your own home! We’ll be exploring Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, St. Lucia’s Day, Pancha Ganapati, Bodhi Day, and the winter solstice celebrations of Dongzhi and Yalda Night! We’ll have a variety of games, crafts, sensory bins, art projects, and recipes to help us learn more about each of these celebrations. Also, check out video storytellings and sing-alongs with our Theater Troupe to enhance your holiday exploration.
Our month-long celebration is sponsored by Capital One.

Tis The Season Sensory Friendly Saturday
Saturday, December 12
On the second Saturday of every month, Miami Children’s Museum offers a sensory friendly experience for children with disabilities and their families. This month, we’re celebrating the season of Winter and all the senses that go along with it! Make homemade puffy paint to create special snowscapes, put together your own calming bottles to resemble the snowfall, and check out a special storytelling of the Polar Express.
Even at home, our goal is to provide your child with the opportunity to engage in social interactions and improve their processing and regulation of sensory input to optimize their understanding of and participation in natural environments.
Virtual Chanukah with PJ Library: Shine Your Light!
Sunday, December 13 | 3:00 PM
At Chanukah, we celebrate how light, in all its forms, can triumph over any darkness. Creating this light in every moment and every interaction is a choice. Whether it’s a meal for someone hungry, support for a friend in crisis, or simply a smile and kind word for someone in need, making light is what it’s all about. On December 13 at 3PM, we will make all kinds of light as we enjoy a Chanukah story time, create our very own Dreidel Suncatchers and build delicious Marshmallow Menorahs! Experience the beauty of Chanukah, from the comfort of your own home. Join us because together, we shine so bright! Space is limited. Register here!
Check out Museum at Home or our social media channels for other creative ways to celebrate, including an artsy Hanukkiah project, a dreidel song singalong, and a latke cooking demonstration!
