DEC 12: Miami Children’s Museum Receives Motorola Solutions Foundation Grant

Miami Children’s Museum, known as one of the top Children’s Museums in the country, has received a prestigious grant from the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions, Inc. Through the grant, Miami Children’s Museum will complete upgrades and renovations to the popular Safety Zone Gallery.

The Motorola Solutions Foundation awards grants each year to organizations, such as Miami Children’s Museum, which support and advance public safety programs and technology and engineering education initiatives. This year, Motorola Solutions Foundation grants will support programs that help more than 2 million students, teachers, first responders and community members around the globe. There is a specific focus on providing grants to programs that impact underrepresented populations, including females, minorities, people with disabilities, veterans and others.

“Our Safety Zone Exhibit teaches valuable life lessons and is a popular attraction within the Museum,” states Deborah Spiegelman, CEO and Executive Director of Miami Children’s Museum.  “The grant from the Motorola Solutions Foundation allows us to further enhance the experience and make it even more exciting.”

“The Motorola Solutions Foundation is honored and privileged to support the work of Miami Children’s Museum,” said Matt Blakely, executive director of the Motorola Solutions Foundation. “We believe in organizations that are fostering innovation, building partnerships and driving change, and we’re proud to be part of the positive impact they’re making in communities.”

Miami Children’s Museum is dedicated to enriching the lives of all children by fostering a love of learning through play and enabling children to realize their highest potential. Through arts and educational programs, the Museum seeks to include and target all audiences in Miami’s changing and diverse community by becoming the “town center” for Miami-Dade County’s children and families.
